This tower was built for the 1960 version of international exhibition of flowers and gardening Floriade, held every 10 years in the Netherlands.
Originally the tower ended at the 'crow nest' (the part with the windows), but in 1970 the Spacetower was added, bringing the total height to 185 meters.
In the 'crow nest' there are 2 hotel suites, which have to be booked at least 3 months in advance...
